IEEE Teacher In Service
Organized by : IEEE AUST, IEEE Educational Activities.
IEEE Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology Student Branch (IEEE AUST SB) arranged a workshop on ‘Robotics: The next Generation Trigger to an Automotive World’ at the Seminar Room of AUST on 30th October, 2017. IEEE Bangladesh Section in collaboration with IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Bangladesh Chapter organized the event under ‘Teacher In-Service Program (TISP)’, supported by IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities. Two very highly skilled professionals in the field of robotics and automation, Mr. Mohammad Zakaria Haider and Mr. Abul Al Arabi, were the instructors of the event. Mr. Mohammad Zakaria Haider is working as a system engineer in Grameenphone Limited and Mr. Abul Al Arabi is working as a Research Associate at the Department of CSE in Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Satyendra Nath Biswas, Professor and Head of the department of EEE, AUST. A total of 81 participants attended the program, nine of whom were faculty members of different universities including AUST. Among the students, 43 were from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and 29 students were attending from other universities. 46 IEEE members participated in the program and 19 female students were present at the program. Other than the participants, 15 volunteers from IEEE AUST Student Branch were present for providing any assistance to the instructors or audience. The technical session was conducted by Mr. Arabi in which he discussed on some insights of Robotics Engineering and demonstrated working principles of some automated instruments. In his session he assembled a robotic hand with predesigned sheets and instructed the participants about the mechanism and other important details. After the technical session, Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Associate Professor, EEE, AIUB and Educational Activities Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section delivered a short speech and expressed his admiration towards the event. At his closing speech, Mr. Masoodur Rahman Khan, Branch Counselor of IEEE AUST Student Branch shared his view about the ever developing technology and invited them to try and keep up with the pace.
